Here we find the finest actors and directors working on great plays in some of the best theatre spaces in the world. The RSC in Stratford offers three theatres providing an elaborate range of drama, ancient and modern, classic and contemporary.
The Royal Shakespeare Company is one of the best known theatre companies in the world. Based in Stratford-upon-Avon it also has operations in London and Newcastle-upon-Tyne and frequently tours the UK and internationally with its productions. The RSC in Stratford offers three theatres providing an elaborate range of drama, ancient and modern, classic and contemporary.
The Royal Shakespeare Theatre and Swan Theatre in Stratford-upon-Avon have now closed for transformation which will see them re-developed to create the most dynamic space for performing and enjoying Shakespeare. The transformation project is due for completion in 2010. The Royal Shakespeare Company continues to perform throughout the project at the 1,000 seat Courtyard Theatre which was opened in 2006. The Royal Shakespeare Company offers a range of services for deaf and disabled patrons including captioned, signed and audio described performances. The Companys philosophy is to make everything they do accessible to all there audiences.
