Since initially opening in March 2012, this weird and wonderful museum has become one of the must-see attractions in this tourist town. Lucky enough to showcase some of the world’s finest pieces of Kinetic Art and Automata from pioneering artists all around the world, The MAD Museum is now keen to provide a bigger platform for this increasingly popular type of art. The MAD Museum is bringing some old favourites and crowd pleasers with us, but we will also be displaying a whole new range of exciting never-seen-before exhibits. The new venue will be completely transformed, with a fabulous brand new MAD look! www.themadmuseum.co.uk

The MAD Mechanical Art & Design) Museum showcases Kinetic Art and Automata. Based in Stratford upon Avon, Warwickshire, the museum is the only permanent exhibition of its kind in the UK and as such has attracted artists from all over the world who are interested in showcasing their work.

For the uninitiated, the museum is a mix of Heath Robinson and Scrapheap Challenge and a hotchpotch of futurist mechanisms with amazing creativity and ingenuity. The MAD Museum holds over 100 pieces; both large and small with two floors full of far-fetched designs and quirky contraptions.

The museum has become extremely popular with clubs and associations seeking great trips out with an interest in highly inventive machines, witty and clever design and mind-blowing intricate moving contraptions. Perfect for little kids and big kids alike:

For the young ones: Dancing lasers, rolling ball machines, roaring mechanical dinosaur heads and whirligigs all with lots of buttons to press! The MAD Museum offers an exciting visit with an educational bias, relevant to curriculum modules such as Design & Technology and Science. We give children an experience that is worthwhile, educationally beneficial and also a lot of fun!

For those a little older: The MAD Museum offers a chance to experience an extraordinary assortment of both modern and old fashioned, yet highly innovative machines with a bit of physics in action! Release your inner inventor! The museum is extremely popular with all ages and anyone interested in creative and sophisticated design.
